I enjoy my photography but, unlike many others, certainly do not consider it a passion.  I had my first “proper” camera (a totally manual Pentax SLR) in the late 1970s because I wanted to photograph birds up close.   Since then I have broadened my subject matter to include almost anything although natural history and birds are still top of my list.

I joined Loughton Camera Club in 1981, became a committee member two years later and have remained on the committee ever since, mostly as general secretary.
